If you think AI will have killed 80% of the jobs, I have to agree.
Scared? Rest assured. History has shown that we are totally fine with AI killing 80% of jobs. Yes, you read that right. History has seen the AI revolution before.
The first AI revolution has long happened and turned out great for humanity. It did admittedly not replace brain work, a.k.a. our intelligence. But it replaced our manual work, that is our industriousness.
I am not talking about "Artificial Intelligence", but about "Artificial Industry".
The agricultural and industrial revolution
While in medieval times, up to 90% of the population worked in agriculture, the technological advancements allowed that nowadays, only 2% of the population manages to feed everybody. Together with the inustrial revolutions, this reduced the number of jobs in agriculture massively while the new productivity ended up freeing resources for much more jobs in arts, research and care.
Every job that exists today was enabled by technology
So while it did kill 90% of existing jobs, it did this by freeing resource creating new jobs for everybody.
Just like that, the resources freed by Artificial Intelligence will enable people to less hard work to earn their living - generally, the affluence of productivity will allow anyone to live off from a less "valueable" work.
So while in medieval time only kings could afford live music, the industrial revolution enabled anyone to afford ticket concerts.
With AI, this will go further. In an abundance of food and services, many more people will be able to afford living of playing music - AI will allow everybody to make a living as a rock star!
